A town of modern houses
In the late 1940s and the 1950s a group of architects later called the Harvard Five, Philip Johnson among them, built modern houses in the New Canaan woods: glass, timber and stone, set low among the trees. Many still stand.
Avara’s A-frames belong to that line: simple forms, a lot of glass, and the woods kept close.
